Litchfield Council Annual Report
A local artist was commissioned to redesign the council's annual report, aiming to authentically capture the rural identity, natural environment, and community spirit. The objective was to enhance engagement with this publication and foster trust in the council's brand among the community.

SITUATION:
Joining a council at the start of a new election cycle, with the task of collaborating closely with elected members and the organisation to refine brand messaging and community outreach strategies. Oversight of a team of two staff members was provided.
TASK:
Optimising social media engagement by elected officials, organising events to enhance the council's reputation, and maintaining the organisation’s website. This involved improving UX design, creating impactful landing pages, dynamic content updates, and optimising the customer journey for enhanced usability.
ACTIONS:
Weekly media briefings with the Mayor and fortnightly Senior Leadership Team meetings were conducted to update the risk register collectively. Management of council reports and presentations and providing workshops and training sessions on social and traditional media for elected officials, emphasising transitioning from Facebook to LinkedIn, were also carried out.
Providing leadership for the compilation and design of the Annual Report and Strategic Plan, as well as coordination of community engagement surveys in accordance with the IAP2 consultation methodology. Events and electronic direct mail campaigns were delivered, including crafting campaign briefs and advertising copy.
Focusing on community engagement and sports and recreation, with data analytics and KPIs monitored to gauge audience behaviour across social media and digital platforms.
RESULTS:
Successful advocacy for inter-governmental funding for the territory's critical roads and infrastructure upgrades was achieved under the leadership provided by Kym Lenoble. The graphic design of corporate documents was revitalised with input from a local artist, the Mayor’s public speaking skills were enhanced, and the community newsletter was digitised.
Furthermore, dynamic content was introduced to the website, and project management, media database, communications, and social media management software were implemented within the organisation.
